Local Attractions in SCarborough and North Yorkshire

Brontes Guesthouse is ideally located for all of Scarboroughs many attractions:

Sealife centre - is at Scalby Mills- about 5 minutes in the car, or walk along the North Bay Esplanade.

Two Beaches - the North Bay and South Bay. Scarborough's famous harbour is on the South Bay and here you will find shops, entertainment, pubs, cafes, restaurants, amusements slot machines, donkey rides and many more attractions. You can also get boat trips - the speedboat is especially exciting, and go on fishing trips.

Scarborough Castle - About ten minutes walk from the hotel.

Miniature Railway - down towards the beach. This takes you to the Sea life centre and Pub at Scalby Mills.

Peasholm Park - just 2 minutes towards the beach. This is where in Summer they have the famous battleships display. There is a boating lake and pitch and putt, and often you can hand feed the squirrels.

Scarborough Swimming Pool is only 5 minutes away through Peasholm park

Yorkshire cricket clubs "Second Home" - North marine road cricket ground, all within a short walking distance.

The town of Scarborough has all you would expect from Britain's oldest and most attractive resort. There is, of course, the beach and harbour, a Norman castle and a wide variety of shops in our modern shopping precinct.

There are plenty of pubs and night clubs for the energetic. There are too many eating places in Scarborough and the surrounding area.

Scarborough is an ideal place from which to explore North Yorkshire. Adjacent to the North Yorkshire Moors and just 30 minutes drive from the enchanting fishing port of Whitby, and only 1 hour from historic York.

Scarborough is becoming a popular place for surfing. It is a "walkers paradise" with the Cleveland way passing through it. For motor bike enthusiasts there is bike racing on Olivers Mount, and a café with astonishing views across the bay.
